Following the overhaul of underground networks, the city of Dax is commencing the renovation of Rue des Cités, focusing on road infrastructure until the end of January 2027.

Rue des Cités in Dax is undergoing a significant road renovation project, set to continue until the end of January 2027. These works follow the refurbishment of both wet and dry underground utility networks.
The aim is to completely renew the roadway by creating safer traffic lanes to reduce speed, installing sidewalks accessible for people with reduced mobility (PRM), reorganizing parking, and incorporating green spaces.
The project will be carried out in three distinct phases. The first phase involves securing the left-turn from route de la Torte (extension of Rue des Cités) towards Rue Louis Blanc. During this period, Rue Louis Blanc will become one-way from Rue Pascal Lafitte to the Porte Sud roundabout. A detour will be in place via Rue Joseph de Laurens and Rue d'Aspremont, with work completion expected by mid-November.
The second phase will focus on the refurbishment of one side of Rue des Cités, from the Aquae delivery entrance to the route de la Torte. The third and final phase will involve the refurbishment of the remaining section of Rue des Cités, from Rue Joseph de Laurens to the Aquae delivery entrance.
