Starting on Wednesday, October 7th, an exhibition dedicated to Armand David will be inaugurated at 6 PM in the exhibition hall of the Château d’Espelette. Presented and commented on by members of the association "les amis d’Armand David", admission will be free.
On Friday, October 9th at 5:30 PM, the L’Aiglon cinema in Kanbo will host the preview screening of a film about Armand David. This free session, by registration only and with limited seating, will explore the connections between Espelette and Baoxing in Sichuan, with the participation of the film crew.
On Saturday, October 10th, a gathering is planned for 11:30 AM behind the Espelette castle, in front of the monument commemorating the 150th anniversary of the panda's discovery by Armand David. A meeting with the Chinese delegation and the symbolic planting of a Davidia involucrata, also known as the Handkerchief Tree, will mark this event. Residents of Espelette who have participated in trips to China since 2000 are warmly invited.
In the evening, on Saturday, October 10th at 8:30 PM, the Patronage will host the show "Mundua Dantzan" by Korrontzi, featuring the participation of dancers from Ezpela. Seating is limited and tickets cost €20, available on Helloasso via "Les Amis d’Armand David".
Finally, on Sunday, October 11th at 10:30 AM, a mass in honor of Armand David will be celebrated at the Saint-Étienne church in Espelette.
